Farms For Peace is Kyoto Network’s flagship regenerative agriculture initiative transforming degraded farmlands into thriving ecosystems that nourish both people and the planet. The program empowers smallholder farmers across Africa, Latin America, and Asia to adopt sustainable practices that restore soil health, enhance food security, and generate long-term climate benefits through verified carbon credits.
By integrating precision farming, biochar production, clean cooking biogas systems, and carbon financing, Farms For Peace enables farmers to increase yields, reduce input costs, and access new revenue streams from soil carbon and methane avoidance credits.
Each participating farm becomes part of a larger circular economy — where crop residues become biochar, livestock waste powers clean biogas, and healthy soils store more carbon and water. Communities benefit from better nutrition, cleaner air, new green jobs, and shared community funds that support schools, seed banks, and water projects.
Our Vision is to create one million “Farms For Peace” — farms that are financially resilient, environmentally restorative, and socially inclusive. Each acre contributes to climate stability, food security, and rural prosperity while advancing global goals on climate action (SDG 13), zero hunger (SDG 2), and life on land (SDG 15).
Farms For Peace is driving measurable environmental, social, and economic transformation for smallholder farmers and their communities. By adopting regenerative agriculture practices, participating farms sequester up to 3 tCO₂e per hectare annually, contributing directly to climate stability. Farmers see 15–20% increases in crop yields while reducing dependency on chemical fertilizers, improving both profitability and soil health. Integrating biochar and community biogas systems generates long–term carbon storage, reduces deforestation, and improves local air quality. Across the program, farmers experience an annual income uplift of $145–450 through cost savings and revenues from verified carbon credits. Beyond the farm, communities benefit from improved nutrition, new green jobs, and investments in schools, seed banks, and water projects, advancing progress toward SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
The outcomes of Farms For Peace are grounded in measurable, verifiable results. Regenerative soil practices consistently sequester carbon at rates of up to 3 tCO₂e per hectare per year, while biochar systems deliver centuries-long carbon storage alongside improved soil fertility. Clean community biogas units replace firewood and charcoal, reducing methane emissions and local deforestation. Participating farmers report tangible improvements in productivity and income, with 15–20% yield increases and significant reductions in input costs, generating $145–450 in additional annual income per farm. These results are supported by carbon financing verification and close monitoring of soil health, crop performance, and community benefits, providing clear evidence of Farms For Peace’s impact on climate resilience, food security, and sustainable livelihoods.
We collaborate with investors, companies, and institutions to scale verified climate and social impact. If you’re interested in funding, co-developing, or integrating this project into your strategy, our team would be happy to discuss options.
