KyoGreen Clean Energy Systems, an initiative of Kyoto Network, is transforming lives across Brazil through renewable energy innovation. With over 2.3 billion people worldwide still dependent on open fires and traditional stoves for daily cooking—a practice that results in millions of deaths annually, accelerates forest degradation, and reinforces energy inequality—KyoGreen is delivering practical, sustainable solutions that reimagine how families, schools, and communities cook, learn, and flourish. By converting organic waste and animal manure into biogas and integrating it with solar-powered cooking and lighting systems, KyoGreen establishes a scalable, locally supported clean energy network that improves public health, protects ecosystems, and strengthens economic resilience. Its household biogas units replace charcoal and kerosene with smoke-free cooking, while school biogas systems power kitchens serving as many as 600 students daily and generate surplus electricity for educational spaces. This creates a circular energy loop that transforms waste into clean fuel and produces nutrient-rich organic fertilizer—enhancing food security, supporting regenerative agriculture, and proving that clean energy can empower communities and restore ecosystems simultaneously.

Project Impact

The KyoGreen Clean Energy Systems initiative delivers significant environmental, health, and socio-economic benefits across Brazil. By replacing traditional biomass fuels with household and institutional biogas systems, the project reduces reliance on charcoal, kerosene, and firewood, easing pressure on forests and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
