KyoGreen Clean Energy Systems, an initiative of Kyoto Network, is transforming lives across the Kenya through renewable energy innovation. With over 2.3 billion people still dependent on open fires and traditional stoves for daily cooking; a practice that causes millions of deaths annually, drives deforestation, and deepens energy poverty, KyoGreen is delivering practical, sustainable solutions that reimagine how families, schools, and communities cook, learn, and live. By converting organic waste and animal manure into biogas and pairing it with solar-powered cooking and lighting systems, KyoGreen creates a scalable, locally maintained clean energy network that improves health, protects the environment, and fosters economic resilience. Its household biogas units replace charcoal and kerosene with smoke-free cooking, while school biogas systems power kitchens serving up to 600 students daily and generate surplus electricity for classrooms. The process completes a circular energy loop turning waste into fuel and producing nutrient-rich organic fertilizer that enhances food security and soil regeneration thus proving that clean energy can empower communities and restore ecosystems at the same time.
